Twice a year the "theakademie" offers its students and teachers the possibility to realize a project abroad. Thematically the project must deal with material from the host country.
During their preparation, all students have to participate in one Summer and one Winter exchange course.
INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY THEATRE FORUM
From May 15th to 20th, 2006, we participated in the 7th INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY THEATRE FORUM organized by the UNIVERSITY THEATRE ASSOCIATION OF LITHUANIA.
On this occasion our Seniors Andrea Laura (7th semester), Andreas Frakowiak (6th semester) und Jana Olschewski (6th semester) won distinctions for special achievements in acting for their series Triptychon (ABGEBROCHENE FLÜGEL - BROKEN WINGS, EINE ZWIEBEL - AN ONION und NOT ENOUGH). All three actors received a diploma for exceptional solo pieces.
The participants at the Forum came from 8 different countries and performances happened daily on three different stages.
International Theatre Festival 2005 in Monastir / Tunisia
Our students participated at the International Theatre Festival 2005 in Monastir. After long and intense rehearsals at the summer course they showed a production of "Medea" directed by Carla Bessa.
Their performances were honoured with the following prizes:
- The Festival prize for best play went to the Medea-class
- The Prize for best direction went to Carla Bessa
- The Prize for best actor went to Alexander Rohde
- Participants prizes went to all summer course participants
Monji Lachiheb was rewarded a distinction by the local university and a Friendship Prize of the Algerian delegation for his organization at Monastir.
