Concept and Objective of the Course

In their work the director must face decision-making in many different areas: acting, technical, stage sets, costumes and dramaturgy. The study programme connects practical knowledge in the said areas as well as theoretical knowledge of the history of the work and the various directing styles. In accordance with the integrative philosophy of theakademie, the directing course networks with acting and theatre studies. We predominantly work in small groups in order to create an intensive and effective working atmosphere.

The aim of the directing course is to give the individual the possibility to find and refine their own style through the combination of theory, practice and project-orientated work, as well as to effectively practice the directing profession.
